I made some Lavender Macaroons for a friend's baby shower last week. I found the recipe on Pinterest, but I tweaked it a bit.
I will got to meet and work with 8 other students from all over the world. Two guys were also Americans, 1 girl was from Hong Kong, China, and the others were from various parts of Italy.
I participated in daily critique sessions and in the afternoon I would go out into the city to photograph until 9pm most nights. Leica was a sponsor of the workshop and I got the chance to try out a Leica M camera, which was so sweet. I just wish I had 6 or 7k to spend on one. haha. J Carrier and James Pomerantz visited us on separate days and showed their work. The week was so exhausting. Almost every minute of every day was spent working. The collective work made during the workshop was publicly presented in the loft at the end of the week during a final slideshow party. One of my favorite photographers came, Phillip Toledano! I purchased his book "Days with my Father" this year, which is so good if you haven't heard of that project check out the website for it. I couldn't believe he was there and that I got to talk to him before he presented his work! It was amazing. He showed us his projects he worked on and the one he is currently working on, which was exciting to see. We ate drank and partied on the rooftop of the loft after the slideshow. We had one more day of meeting and then it was over just like that. An amazing week I'll never forget.
